PINOY ROCKS!

M.Y.M.P - Make your momma proud
When M.Y.M.P. came out with their first album SOULFUL ACOUSTIC one thing was already evident. M.Y.M.P. - Juris & Chin can do soulful renditions of any songs that they dare try to do a cover of. Of course, they were known for their very original hit "A LITTLE BIT" but then there's also "Waiting In Vain" and "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic" ...classic songs despite the abundance of covers out on the market, still their versions shines through. There are a lot of request for them to do this type of album but wouldn't you rather buy new music? But after their platinum selling debut, it is imperative because now you want to thank all those people who bought the first album, and what better way to thank them than to give in to their request...so you now have "VERSIONS" in you hands...this one's special because you've always wanted to her Juris sing "Say You Love Me" and "At Your Best" and Chin is right on target with his acoustic work on "True Colors" and "Constantly" and how about "Specially For You"?...ah, its to die for...So! You know the drills: write down your "request” on a piece of tissue, pass it to the waiter and keep it comin'!

And by the way, you can also check out their original material on the "BEYOND ACOUSTIC" album...two albums? Yes!...because we can't thank you enough my friend and like you we can't get enough of M.Y.M.P.

Juris Fernandez (Vocals)
Chin ALacantara (Guitars & Vocals)

John Angeles (Drums, K-hon & Percussions)

Cueshe is an undefined word that in a flash of the unconscious came into the minds of band members Dhee, Michael, Fredney, Fritz and Jovan.
It is a statement of rhythm, harmony, energy, melody and a taste of a sugar fried banana (banana cue) sumptuously served every after jam sessions. These five individuals with different influences in their musical tasted ranging from alternative, pop rock, new wave, R & B and rock ‘n roll decided to blend their music and play cover songs that suited their chemistry.
Their roots came from bands Last Dance, Deep and Greenhorn. A stint at Padi’s Point sundown Showdown was its first step, placing 2nd place in the said event. It was their driving force to move on and improve their style, at that time they call themselves Greenhorn. A gig at Padi’s Point when they front acted the band Frank (was their second step) they were introduced to a manager Owen Tigues wherein from here they came up with a name “Cueshe”.

Spongecola Among the dozens of new acts out there, Sponge Cola has risen above the college band cliché and proven to be a formidable part of today's Philippine rock scene.
Sponge Cola is comprised of Yael Yuzon (lead vocals and guitar), Chris Cantada (vocals and drums), Armo (guitar) and Gosh (bass), all hailing from the Ateneo de Manila University. It was during high school (1998-2002) that Yael met Gosh through the school's theater guild, Teatro Baguntao. Yael was already known then as a solo performer, but decided anyway to form a band with Gosh and two other co-actors. The group, then called Sponge after R.S. Surtee's Mr. Sponge's Sporting Tour, won in several high school competitions which began the buzz not just in their school but other campuses as well.
Through time, some of the members of the old lineup left and were replaced by Chris and Armo, the guitarist of Sponge's brother band Rampqueen. Another batchmate, Raymond Fabul, began to manage both Sponge and Rampqueen. However, the boys were about to find out that a Detroit grunge band had already claimed the name Sponge. "But we wanted to keep the word Sponge in our band name because people have already associated us with that name," Yael relays. "So we decided to add 'Cola', since it's an easy enough word to remember." Sponge Cola, as we know it, was therefore officially born in the summer of 2002.

Session Road
A group of Baguio-based musicians have decided to take the proverbial "ROAD LESS TRAVELED." The songs in their repertoire are aimed at pleasing the audience but more importantly, pleasing themselves as they believe that satisfied musicians connect better with any crowd. The band started with the brother and sister team of Hannah and Chavi. Being children of a musician, they started having genuine interest in the field very early in their lives. Hannah took formal voice lessons under Norman Morred of the Ryan Cayabyab Music Studio and was very much into theater, musicals being her forte. She also learned to play guitar at a young age. Chavi plays the drums, percussion, flute and guitar.

About Kitchie
A true artist with a true purpose. That's Kitchie Nadal. Surfacing in June 2003 from her self-imposed hiatus after running away from a rocky past with her old band, Mojofly, Kitchie is finally happy that her music has found a meaningful outlet. After nearly a year of seeking just the right musicians to back her up on stage and in the recording studio, Kitchie has a solid line-up behind her. Aaron Cambronero on bass, Jeff de Castro on guitars, and Marco Guzman on drums were picked for their dedication and loyalty as much as for their musical skill and craft. While kitchie remains billed as a solo artist, they form her permanent band. It's a rather unique arrangement (in the Philippine music industry, at least) but it has proven quite effective. The result is a kind of consistency, stability, and professionalism that is truly rare among the bands in their category of alternative pop-rock. It was a management decision. Kitchie herself wanted a full band at first, but she trusted her management team's judgement and okayed their recommendations

BAMBOO Fast forward to 2004 and we have Bamboo — The Band. After quitting Rivermaya and leaving for the US several years ago, Bamboo Mañalac has returned to Manila and formed his own band, aptly named Bamboo. Joined by former Rivermaya bassist Nathan Azarcon, with Ira Cruz and Vic Mercado of Passage, they have released their first album As The Music Plays, with the current radio hit Noypi as the carrier single.

Every song highlights their music’s main selling point—Bamboo’s wonderful voice. Personally, they sound much “lighter” compared to Rivermaya (who else should I compare them to?); though I notice that some of their songs, especially those written in Filipino, has some of the Rico Blanco style of songwriting—surely a strong influence to Mañalac’s music.
